subject: Finding Good Riding Trails For Atvs [print this page]

ATV riding trails are everywhereATV riding trails are everywhere. With the popularity of ATV riding and racing on the rise, there has been a surge in the number of ATV trails. To find these trails, you will have to do a little bit of research but it shouldn't be long before you're out on the road again.

If you're new to the sport and just purchasing your first ATV, you will want to talk to the seller and get as much information as you can. They will probably know the area and ATV trails that are the most fun. If it's a dealership you're at, there may be some bulletin board promotions for different trails around the area.

On a side note, while you're at the dealership you may want to have a tune up done. Have them check the basics such as your tires, ATV shocks, engine fluids, etc. ATV shocks are a big deal if they're not working properly.

Another good place to find trails is at a local ATV riding club. If there is one in your area, this will probably be your best bet on finding the best trails. Talking to the members will give you all kinds of useful information.

Finding these clubs and other information can be done online. The ATVA (All-Terrain Vehicle Association) usually has a listing of these clubs and how to contact them. The internet has millions of sources for any subject including ATV trails.

If you just can't seem to find anyone with knowledge about ATV trails, you can always try and find some on your own. Find the nearest canyons, hills, and mountains and go exploring. If you take your ATV with you make sure you only ride on authorized roads.

Once you've found the trail you want to ride, make sure you are fully prepared. Go over all the safety measures and again be sure your ATV shocks are working properly. If your ATV hasn't been ridden in a while, you will want to do a couple test runs.

Locating good ATV trails usually isn't too hard. You may have to drive an hour or so, but there is always a good trail nearby. Prepare yourself and your vehicle so you can really enjoy your time on the trail.
