subject: Self Awareness 36 Observing the Observer [print this page] Self Awareness Course 36 - Observe the Observer Observing
As you are reading these words, observe what you are feeling. What are you feeling? What are you thinking? Just watch and take note. Now, take a deep breath and feel your body, feel the energy in your body, just note what state you're in. Next, observe that which can observe what state you are in. Who is aware of how aware you are? Next, observe your own faculty of observation. Are you conscious? What part of you can discern whether you are conscious or not?, or how conscious you are? Just be conscious of your own consciousness.
Observe the part of you that is observing that part of you that is observing what state you're in. In other words, observe the observer observing. Turn your awareness around 180-degrees and look back at that which is looking at your mind, looking at the feeling, looking at all the senses and activity in your mind. There is a witness here watching, some part of you that's conscious of what you're thinking, feeling what you're aware of and how aware you are. Just be conscious of this.
Just be aware of that part of you that is aware. By consciously developing greater conscious awareness, your awareness grows. Consciousness grows at an accelerated rate as you consciously develop your consciousness. The more conscious you are of how conscious you are, the more you are going to be conscious. Think about that.
