subject: Want To Follow A Monstrous Economic Engine Worldwide Tomorrow And The Decades To Come. [print this page] The World is traveled more now than at anytime in the past. There is a reason for this as you will see. I am new to twitter and recently found a tweet that talked about this very topic.
@twittedtraveler was making some very interesting points. Among them was that more than 10,000 babyboomers are retiring everyday. That is a huge number by anyones measurement. This started me thinking about what all of the babyboomers were going to do once the were retired.
I learned that travel is not only an 8 Trillion dollar per year industry but that it grew last year by one Trillion dollars. Pondering that for a few minutes, I had to do a search on who had the biggest industry. Guess what, it's travel. By a long shot too.
Anyone need a bigger clue than that? Apparently the boomer trend has been on a roll since 1946. Now all the boomers are retiring and they want to travel. This accelerated trend in travel should go on for at least another 20 years. If you're into travel like I am, follow "@twittedtraveler".
As a newbie on Twitter, I really enjoyed @twittedtraveler's tweets. Funny thing, only a year ago I was dragged screaming into facebook, but.... have not looked back since. I think Twitter is going to be the same way.
As the world economy struggles along to maintain it's lift, the travel industry is soaring now thanks to the Babyboomers. If the numbers are correct, and I don't see why they wouldn't be, this big boomer trend will be going on for the next 20 years or so. One good way to to stay abreast of the travel industry is to follow the "@twittedtraveler" on twitter.
