subject: When To Upgrade Your Mac Memory [print this page]

Because technology is fast evolving, changes are imminent and constant as well. With just a blink of an eye, the latest computer model you just bought a month ago seems too outdated when newer models with faster specifications are recently introduced in the market. That's how fast the innovations are, and in order to keep with the trends, you must learn to acknowledge these changes. The most basic example is the computers. It seems that latest innovations are introduced in the market every day, making it too hard to keep track with the latest trend. However, you do not have to buy new models every time one is out in the market, for you can still opt to do an upgrade.

The most upgradeable computer component is the memory. For better result, there is a need to upgrade memory once every year. A decade ago sees us purchasing computer units with a meager 256MB of memory capacity as the latest trend, and high tech at that during those times. Today, the capacity could reach to as high as 64GB. Imagine the wonders you can do with your unit with this high memory capacity.

When do you need to upgrade your computer memory, even for a Mac?

There are indications that would tell you that you need to upgrade your Mac memory to a more higher capacity. Instances like when your unit will slow down when tasks are made, because this means that the memory could no longer be sufficient to run programs. Most especially since new software and programs are being installed in the unit. When windows are hard to open or close, or when your unit experiences lock-ups on certain programs, then it is time to install a memory upgrade. Even Mac computers need upgrades as well.

If the purpose of your Mac computer is for business that requires high end specification programs like photo or video editing, then you must be able to install the right memory upgrades. But make sure first that the motherboard you purchase can still accommodate upgrades. And to gain the best result, always install the most compatible memory module to your Mac unit.
