Weight loss is a major topic right nowWeight loss is a major topic right now. While some people can loss weight on their own, others need a more structured process. These people do better with a step by step process to follow. The growth of the diet industry is explosive because marketers are aware of and understand this need. There are endless fad diets claiming to be the best way to lose weight. Sadly, a lot of these fad diets are far more harmful than they are helpful. You can find some good diet programs, though; they are not all fads. There are some programs available that can be helpful. Are you searching for a program to help you in your weight loss journey? The following are some popular programs, with some warnings.

Slim Fast started out as a diet drink and has recently started expanding into other diet foods and a fully fledged weight loss program.

In the US at least the Slim Fast slogan has taken the population by storm with it's catchy weight loss idea of a shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch and a sensible dinner. We can't really endorse a program that advocates replacing two meals with diet shakes, but lots of people swear that it works. The Slim Fast plan has taken a turn for the better now by offering food and snack bars too. Another great program is the Abs Diet. For men who want to lose weight, this is a great program. Of course, this doesn't mean that women can't use this program as well. The diet can seem a little gimmicky, but rest assured it uses standard and trusted techniques for weight loss. Energy from carbohydrates and learning that weight loss requires more than counting calories are two points of this diet.

You can also look into the Zone diet. This diet hasn't been a best seller lately but it still has a faithful following that swear by its success. This program also promises to help in other areas of your life, not just with your weight. You can push back heart disease and reboot your metabolism with a diet of mostly carbs and fats is the promise of this program. This sounds like a dream come true if you've been taking the "fruits and veggies" route. Some people have found with success with this diet. Still others say that cutting out protein like this is not healthy. Losing weight is no small feat. For some it is possible to get down to their goal weight simply through portion control and exercise. Alot of people however will need more help than that. Talk to your doctor before you start any program. Your doctor will understand your starting health and your goals. Deciding which program is right for you will be easier once you've discussed your options with your doctor. You will lose that weight and begin to feel like a new healthy you!
