subject: Use The Dera Roller To Iron Out Stretch Marks [print this page] If you suffer from those dreaded wrinkles, stretch marks or scars, then listen up!
I recently came across this small instrument to roll away marked or wrinkles skin. So woth having fine wrinkles, I bought a derma roller to try it out.
Derma Roller - What Is It?
The derma roller is a skin needling device which gently pricks the outer layer of skin - it won't bleed and doesn't hurt.
It consists of about 190 micro-needles which are approximately 1 millimetre long. You can get different sized needles depending on your skin texture or what the intention of the device is.
For example, if you want to get rid of acne scars then you might need a slightly longer needle so this will penetrate into the scar tissue.
What Do You Mean 'Rejuvenate' The Skin?
You need to get rid of the top layer of your skin, this is called the epidermis. The epidermis will then rejuvenate (renew itself) more quickly than its original 30 days.
I'm sure you've heard the expression 'shedding your skin', well this is what this means. Your old, dead skin cells drop off and are replaced by new skin cells. However, if you have scars, wrinkles of stretch marks then this area of skin makes it harder to rejuvenate.
This is where the derma roller comes in as it helps to rejuvenate your skin layers at a deeper level and at a faster pace.
What Does Skin Needling Do For You
Skin needling pricks the top layer of skin. This then starts the process where extra collagen is produced. This happens because you have essentially 'damaged' the skin cells on your epidermis so your collagen comes to the rescue to 'reproduce' new skin cells to replace the damaged ones.
So if you do this three/four times a week, which essentially means you are renewing your epidermis (to a specific area) several times a week, then your damaged skin will be replaced with new healthy wrinkle, scar and stretch mark free!
