Storing your golf cart in winter is important to keep your cart in good condition. You have to store your cart properly to use them again in the summer when it is the season for the game again. If you are looking for informative tips of how to store your electric golf cart in winter, then take a look at these points.

If you are having an electric cart, then the most important part that has to be well maintained is the battery of the cart. You have to take more care in maintaining the batteries in good condition. It includes washing and cleaning your batteries and replacing the worn out or damaged ones to a new one. You should also keep them charged fully at regular periods. When cleaning the batteries, check whether cells caps of the batteries are attached securely. You should unplug the charger before removing it for cleaning. First, start by cleaning the battery compartment. You should also spray some battery neutralizer on the exterior part of the batteries. Along with the top of the battery, if it is made of metal, you should also spray the neutralizer on the other parts like the interior walls of the battery panels, between and down the battery racks etc. You then have to scrub the top and sides of your battery with a paint brush. In order to neutralize the acid and prevent drying of the battery, you should rinse the battery with a mixture of baking soda and distilled water. Using tap water should be avoided as it can damage those batteries.

When working with the battery, be careful in handling them. Never handle them bare hand, but always protect your hands with gloves. You should then clean and tighten the connections of all the battery terminals. Check whether the cables are also tightened and are not corroded. An equally important thing is checking the water levels of the battery. If low, refill the cells with water. But never overfill them. The last thing you should do after proper cleaning of the batteries is charging them fully.
