subject: CyberNotes: Easily create panoramic photos [print this page] Time saving Tuesday Time saving Tuesday
Windows only
I always felt like there was not there an ideal tool for the average person who wants to shoot panoramic photos and do not want to spend ages gathering them on the computer. One of the tools that we have recently on the subject was Hugin , but you can spend hours tweaking settings trying things just right. It was not something that most people want to fiddle z.
Over on our forums Tony stated Microsoft provides a wonderful tool that Free is called Image Composite Editor (ICE). Microsoft certainly included the possibility of creating panoramic in Windows Live Photo Gallery, but the standalone application that gives a lot of other things.
I think the real question is how well it works, and how much effort should be made to the sewing photos together. I tried the program on several different pans that I have taken over the years, and it turned out, some of the best results. Ironically is also one of the easiest programs I have ever used for such tasks.
When you first get a Microsoft ICE running you should see something like this:

Everything you need to do is drag and drop the photos you want stitched together in the gray area. The program will then go to work trying to figure out the best way to their assembly, and once I do see a preview of the results:

This is really all about. There are different types of stitches that can be done in this movement or rotation of the flat, the picture may be reduced to their needs by changing the box that appears around the panoramic image. Best, however, may be different formats can be saved in widescreen:

Now you do not have many excuses as to why you still have some photos laying around that are not stitched together!
