However, facts are facts say some. The argument is that E cigarettes contain no tobacco (which contains thousands of chemicals, of which at least 50 are known to be carcinogenic) at all. Some of those who have spent a lifetime smoking say that an e cig, which does contain and deliver nicotine (although nicotine free cartridges are available) has to be at least "safer" than a tobacco or (analog cigarette as they are becoming known in the world of e cig smoking), simply because of this lack of tobacco.
Although the jury is still out on this, amidst claim and counter claim, many smokers (or some would say ex smokers) are determined to take matters into their own hands as far as the law will allow them, by creating an electronic cigarette market that is booming! Not only is there an explosion in the product's popularity amongst the general public, but many celebrities and stars from the Hollywood movie industry and the world of rock and pop music are choosing e cigarette in the hope that they will prove less harmful than their tobacco counterparts.
Leonardo DiCaprio is perhaps the most high profile actor to have been spotted on more than one occasion smoking some kind of electronic cigarette. Nikki Reid, actress from the massive hit that is the vampire Twilight Saga is another that has been seen with an e cig.
In fact, the story of the e cigarette is already somewhat like a Hollywood movie, only as yet, nobody has written an ending.
