subject: What shall we do if our Laptop keyboard malfunction? [print this page]

One Day, my Toshiba Satellite L300 Keyboard suddenly broken. Symptoms: Enter a character, but two characters shows(including one with its independent character). According to my past experience, i know that it is too damp within the keyboard, so the keyboard internal circuit boards caused by short circuit. Then i shut down the laptop, removed the keyboard, clean the boards with dry cloth , concluded that failure were excluded.

Repair broken

When I installed the laptop keyboard , power on the laptop, i found that the keyboard still did not work. Then i opened the "Device Manager", the result was surprising: the "Device Manager" tab in the display system actually installed two keyboard! But also an added a red cross, cliked at the "Properties", it was actually a conflict of system resources. For nothing more than a keyboard, of course, conflicting. I deleted one, did not work either! Restart, could not be used! Then i opened the "DeviceManager", where there were two keyboards! i deleted the two keyboards angrily, and then open the "Add New Hardware Control Panel " re-installed it again, "Device Manager" also showed that the system has two keyboards. When i try orther keyboard in my laptop, it works, when i try my own keyboard on other laptops, the problem happen again.

Keyboard pin bent

Think more carefully, when i boot the laptop, three indicators turned on, indicating that the system could detect the keyboard, but the keyboard could not function after turn on, and the system also mistakenly showed that there are two keyboards, resulting in system resource conflict. Keyboard should not be burned out, I paid attention to the warning: power off firstly and then unplug the keyboard .

I suddenly found that the keyboard interface of a needle bent. Suddenly, I understood why, after I was finished with the mop keyboard interface, i did not carefully look at interpolation, probably made the keyboard pin bent!

After i push the needle into the correct place, and turn on the laptop, delete the two keyboards, reboot, the keyboard functioned. Thus, the "failure" was finally lifted.
