Nevertheless, non-mining characters can still pick up the Blacksmithing profession although often with the cost of buying their own materials from miners instead of gathering their supplies for free.
How To Get Started With Blacksmithing Like all other professions in the game, Blacksmiths require training learn the ropes of the trade. All trainers can be located in any major zones in Azeroth.
Your trainer will let you undergo training for a small fee and from time to time, you will have to return to your trainer to increase your rank. This profession has 6 levels starting from the Apprentice which has 1 to 75 skill points and ending with the Grand Master with 375 to 450 skill points. In between these two are four different levels namely the Journeyman, Expert, Artisan, and Master.
As your level increases in the profession, you will acquire the necessary proficiency to create items useful to higher level characters.
As a primary profession, you can decide to unlearn blacksmithing anytime you want. However, some thought must be given to this decision since once a primary profession is unlearned, all the skill points you have gained will go back to zero. If you decide later on to relearn Blacksmithing, you will have to start from scratch.
Skilling Up Production professions like Blacksmithing only allows for level ups once enough goods have been produced to meet the requirements of a particular level. For leveling purposes, each item is color coded to identify how much skill point is earned by crafting them. For example, Orange items dish out skill points every time they are crafted. Yellow items fail to give out points from time to time. Green items may give skill points every now and then while Grey items don't give as much as one point at all times.
