To regular smokers, quitting smoking is easier said than done. Perhaps you, too, may have attempted to break the habit, but failed miserably. Don't give up hope for you are about to discover the easy way to stop smoking. It may sound unbelievable, but take it from someone who smoked at least one pack of cigarettes a day for more than 15 years. Apparently, the easy way to stop smoking begins with you --- yes, you! If you want to change things, you need to start looking at things differently. It's the same with smoking, or more specifically, the desire to quit smoking. If you are hell bent on quitting for good, you must train your mind to believe that it's what you want and that you can do it. You must have heard of the power of the mind; you don't have to be a psychic in order to move mountains literally. You can quit the habit by simply saying to yourself, out loud, that quitting smoking is going to be a piece of cake; you can do it without the help of any pill, patch, gum, or anything else designed to supposedly curb your cravings for cigarettes. It may not be very easy during the first few days. After all, nicotine is indeed a very addictive substance. In fact, it is said to be more addictive than cocaine and heroine, so it is quite normal for you body to long for it, to want it again and again and again. Still, you have to refuse to give in to the temptation. Learn to focus and to tell your mind (again) that you want to quit smoking. You'll be very surprised that doing this simple mental exercise everyday for several months can actually do. Not only will you reduce your cravings for cigarettes, you will only start to loathe them. You will begin to wonder why you ever smoked in the first place since it makes your breath stinky, puts you at risk for respiratory ailments including lung cancer, and poisons the environment.About the Author:
