The most important and popular dental works found is veneers, dental veneer is defined as the layer of tooth-colored material to and covering surface of the tooth structure. Veneer has many purposes one of which is to close the visible spaces found between teeth. Another function is to repair small imperfections such as chip or slightly crooked tooth, straighten and lengthen teeth, furthermore treating of discolored filling or conceal stained teeth is also another form of veneer. Some people take veneer as the last option to whiten their teeth and improve on its appearance. The reason why even TV shows and talk shows promote this dental veneer is because it is permanent, custom-shape, stain proof, natural in appearance and highly resilient.

We have basically two types of dental veneer. firstly the most common type is called porcelain veneer. Porcelain veneer is made of pure porcelain and it tend to last for about 10 t0 15 years although this porcelain is very inherently brittle because once it is bonded in tooth surface, it makes the tooth strong and durable. It is also referred to as dental veneer laminates. It resists stain and mimics the light reflection properties of your teeth.

The second type is resin composite veneer, this type is made up of two different types of materials generally, comparatively the cost of getting composite veneer is cheaper because it can be fabricated inside your mouth and it does not also requires complex manufacturing processes.

In any case this two types requires your teeth to be prepared before the procedure, preparation constitute the shaping of teeth by removing some of the natural part of it to create space before bonding the material. By doing this you will lose the natural enamel or the protective layer of your teeth. In case you are to remove the veneer, it is expected that your teeth are weak and are more prone to decay aside from the fact that your teeth will never look the same.
