subject: Can Anyone Claim to have the Best Weight Loss Programs? [print this page]

In a world filled with fad diets, diet pills and so-called miracle foods, can any group or company claim to have the best weight loss programs? Let's face it; what seems to work for one person doesn't for another. Worse, almost every diet only seems to work for so long, and then the weight loss stops and the dieter gives up in frustration. That is no solution.

There are plenty of "good" weight loss programs that make more of an effort to teach their members how to eat better--what choices are required for weight loss and which exercise routines will optimize building muscle mass and so forth. The real flaw in any of these programs is that the focus is on weight loss instead of life.

What Does Life have to do with Weight Loss?

No matter which weight loss program you choose, if your goal is solely weight loss then you are not going to enjoy life long success. As difficult as it may seem at the start, you have to change how you look at food, how you eat and how you live in order to sustain your effort for life.

You see, a diet is, by design, something you go on to lose weight and then come off when you have reached whatever random number you picked at the start.

The reasons that 95% of those who have dieted don't keep off their weight is the fact that they go back to their old, unhealthy, eating patterns. Sure enough, their weight goes back up.

It takes time to view a snack of raw almonds and organic apples as preferable to half a bag of potato chips and a soda, even if you know that the first is better for you. It requires an attitude shift to think of healthy food choices as the foundation for a healthy, energy-filled, lean life rather than an unfortunate requirement necessary to reach a specific goal weight. As hard as it might be at the start, I am here to tell you it is worth while.

The Best way is NOT to Diet at all

Stop thinking of your new eating plan as a diet--it is the way you should eat if you want to be healthy. Load up the fridge with organic fruits and vegetables. Stock your pantry with whole grains of all sorts.

Put stevia and raw honey in your cupboard next to your sea salt, olive oil and coconut oil. Stock the freezer with lean, grass fed beef and bison, organic chicken and turkey, wild caught fish and shellfish.

Find out where you can get raw milk and raw milk products. Think about joining an organic cooperative, purchase a share from a CSA (community supported agricultural farm) or hook up with your local farmers market. Make eating a pleasure, a life sustaining event each day and you will not only melt away fat, you will feel great in the process.

You see, the best way to lose weight can't be found even in the best weight loss programs. It is found through returning to the way we ate for millennia; wholesome, natural foods prepared at home and enjoyed with relish.
