subject: Hemorrhoids Home Cure - Exercise as Part of Your Treatment Regimen by:Greg Whitaker [print this page]

Exercise if done properly can help you stay healed of hemorrhoid problems. By adding exercise to your healthy eating habits you will help aid in the permanent reduction of hemorrhoid recurrences.

Walking is the best and most recommended exercise as it's the easiest. Walking or jogging for 20 minutes daily can be worked into most any schedule. It could be the first thing done in the morning. If you prefer home exercise, you can do aerobics. Examples of what you can do are walking to work or walking to the newspaper shop.

Dealing with the pain issue...

Pain is usually mild and can be managed with analgesics. Returning to work can be immediate or the day after treatment. Pain is more common in the case of external hemorrhoids. This condition involves the formation of a painful lump of inflamed, blood-filled tissue at or near the rectal opening.

Understanding internal hemorrhoids...

Internal hemorrhoids are the ones that bleed. These hemorrhoids are hidden and usually painless. Internal hemorrhoids occur when the veins inside the anal canal swell and external hemorrhoids occur when the veins near the opening swell instead. The differences are important to note as those with internal hemorrhoids may not feel any pain since there are no pain receptors inside the rectum area. Internal hemorrhoids cause painless bleeding. Occasionally, straining can push an internal pile through the anal opening, giving rise to prolapsed hemorrhoids.

Understanding external hemorrhoids...

External hemorrhoids start up from veins that run through the anal area. Due to the demands of physics, the anal area circulatory system runs in strange ways. External hemorrhoids can be seen around the outside of the anus, and there is a lot of pain but not much bleeding. In some cases, the veins burst and this results in what is known as bleeding piles. External hemorrhoids, and some prolapsed internal hemorrhoids, are removed by conventional surgery in a hospital. Depending on the circumstances, this requires a local, regional, or general anesthetic.

External hemorrhoids develop outside the opening of the anus. These types of hemorrhoids can be very painful because the skin around that area is very sensitive. External hemorrhoids are fleshy lumps around the rectum. They occur as a result of anal pressure which dilates the rectal veins. External hemorrhoids are those occurring outside the distal end of the anal canal and are sometimes painful and accompanied by swelling and itching. Internal hemorrhoids are those that occur inside the rectum and since this area does not have pain receptors.

External hemorrhoids are ones that protrude past the dentate line which is the area where rectal mucosa become anal skin. Conversely external hemorrhoids are found around the outer rim of the anus.

Although exercise can contribute greatly to the ongoing prevention of hemorrhoids, care must be taken because of the nature of hemorrhoids and the pain associated with them. Your doctor should be consulted before starting any exercise program.
