*** Do Not Quit Smoking! Click Here *** One of the premises behind any stop smoking product, therapy or method is the need for the patient to really WANT to stop smoking. Even if the patient has a desire to stop smoking the depth of the addiction that nicotine causes can make even the person with the most will power fail over time. One of the keys to quitting smoking is avoiding places and people that would reinforce the desire to smoke. Bars, restaurants with smoking sessions and friends who smoke are things and places to stay away from while trying to quit smoking. Using quit smoking hypnotherapy can help you stay on track to reach your goal instead of regressing. There are a number of statistics out there that show how futile trying to quit on your own really is. Several studies have shown that only five percent of those who try to stop smoking on their own without any help actually succeed. If someone uses some sort of nicotine product (nicotine patches or gum) or other quit smoking therapy then the percentage for success increases to twenty five percent. This still means that three out of four people who use smoking cessation products still fail. Newer studies have shown that the success ratio for patients who use hypnotherapy in conjunction with their desire to stop smoking increases to sixty six percent. This means that two out of three people using hypnosis as an aid to their quest to quit smoking are successful. It is interesting to note that these studies have also shown that the highest rates of success occur when the hypnotherapist used is also a licensed psychologist. A combination of an excellent background in the root causes of vices like smoking and drinking obviously helps the provider tailor the hypnotherapy sessions in a customized way for the best results in a shorter period of time. I had found a great statement that is a key to successful quit smoking hypnotherapy. It went like this - a nonsmoker is a person who would never think of picking up a cigarette and light it while a smoker who has stopped smoking is merely resisting the urge to light up. Getting the smoker who is resisting the urge converted to a nonsmoker is the key to long term success. Due to the greater chance of success I would choose hypnotherapy to help me stop smoking.About the Author:
