Facebook privacy issues have been a problem since day one and as they approach nearly 600 million members concerns are going to reach a whole new height every time somebody breaches their so - called secure site.

Its not the boyfriend or girlfriends trying to view private facebook profiles of their exes new flame that is going to cost an uproar, but the people who are hacking to do harmful things with the information they are able to withdraw. Imagine if one person got a hold on 500 million plus members sensitive information. What would happen?

Think of all the public figures that have pages on Facebook. Everybody from political to business people who the world looks up to could have their personal information exposed to the world. Only people that would probably be happy is the gossip/entertainment blogs.

I think at this point its time for somebody besides Facebook or whomever governs the internet step in and do something to make them beef up their security so that the chances off a system wide hack are next to none. Kind of like how I've been seeing numerous free to download movie sites being seized by government branches. We all know they only want to make sure they get their money and not really worrying about the millions that the actors are losing to bootleggers online.

If they owned a piece of Facebook I'm sure they would step in and make things right, but thats just not the reality at this point.

As they say with success comes great responsibility and Facebook holds the weight of the world in its hands.

What do you think of Facebook's various site vulnerabilities?
