subject: Things To Do In Night Time Chicago When You're Alive [print this page]

You may not know this, but Chicago is the third most populated city in the United States. Famous for being the "windy city," Chicago is situated on the southwestern shores of Lake Michigan, bordering the Illinois-Indiana State Line, and is loaded with history, culture, great attractions, as well as famous figures, boasting current US President Barack Obama as one of its favorite sons. Chicagoland is a thriving city all year-round, and is a major tourist attraction for people from all around the world, as well as a great place for its own residents to enjoy the best from life. In recent years over 32 million US residents visited Chicago for leisure purposes, with 11.7 million visitors jetting in from the world of business, and 1.3 million visitors arriving from overseas. In 2008, these visitors contributed more than $11.8 billion to Chicago's economy.

So what is so great about Chicago that makes people want to come here? Is it the Chicago Symphony? The Chicago Bears? Millennium Park? The wonderful lakeshore views? The Art Institute of Chicago? The trendy shops? The Steppenwolf Theatre Company? Or is it the great diversity of restaurants, and ethnic eateries in the Mexican villages, or the Puerto Rican Paseo Boricua, "Greektown," "Little Italy," "Chinatown," or the Polish fare in Belmont-Central, or maybe "Little Seoul" in Lawrence Avenue, or the Vietnamese restaurants on Argyle Street, and Indian/Pakistani on Devon Avenue.

Or is it the great live music scene, and dearth of amazing nightclubs that draws people from far, and wide? For it's when the sun goes down that Chicago comes into its own, and throbs with the vitality, and electricity generated by people at their best bringing entertainment to others with passion, and pulsating energy. There is always a great "live" entertainment event going on somewhere in the city whether you're straight, gay, or lesbian, with alternative music, rock, comedy, jazz, blues, dance, Latin swing, hundreds of lively bars, casinos, sports bars, and over 200 nightclubs for some awesome late night/early morning revelry. There really is something for everyone, and it's little wonder people decide to make the best of their nights out by doing it in style, and, let's be honest, bare-faced excess: yes, that can only mean one thing - the stretch limo.

Every night of the week you'll see one cruising, literally cruising, the city, a long, sleek, shiny white Infiniti QX56, or Hummer H2, driven by a professionally-dressed chauffeur, bedecked in full attire, as he takes parties of 26 round the city in a neon-lit, moving disco. What a sight it is, and what a way to really live it up. And you don't have to be filthy rich to afford one.
