subject: No Spain, No Gain [print this page] While everybody's winters may not have been a painstaking and heart wrenching experience it still doesn't distract from the fact that Spain has always provided us with an opportunity to escape our lives at home and become a much more cheery person. As England fans recently waited to hear the news to see if Everton's talented midfielder Mikel Arteta would be legible to play for the country rather than his native Spain, I'm sure the man himself was sweating a little bit too. The lure of International football would be hard to turn down, but to play it in this country here wind rips through you like a chainsaw is enough on a club season basis. I'm sure he appreciates his summer retreat home in Spain as much as we do, if not more so.
While the football may be exciting here in England, the weather is certainly not and though Spanish footballers flocking to the shores of the UK I think you will find UK players just as eager to go in the opposite direction. Spain has many top clubs that are coincidently very close to popular holiday destinations along the coast. Barcelona would of course be top dog being the best club on the coast, but let's be fair there is a small list of people who will be making that transfer. Thinking of Spain as a whole there is Majorca, Tenerife and Malaga worth considering. Of course if you are an ambitious semi-pro footballer, then why not consider lesser teams in places like Ibiza, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria or even the likes of Benidorm? There bound to have a team.
If you've got it sweet back in the UK then there might be little reason to up and change your whole life by moving to Spain, perhaps just the regular summer holiday will suit you down to the ground. To be fair that's all most of us need, a nice long break on the shores of Costa wherever. The options are endless but that where our own preferences come in and help narrow down and pin point the best resorts and destinations for us. Weather its family fun or wild party nights, Spain tends to look after us pretty well.
I think if you scour the mainland and various island coasts of Spain I'm sure you are going to find a the perfect place for you, your friends, family or that special someone. If you don't then there is probably something wrong with you!
