When it gets cold outside and you want to keep the home warm then you might consider using an oil burner. Of course, there are many other types of heater than can be used. Although gas central heating has its uses, it can be expensive and bad for the environment. Solar energy is possible and is becoming much more popular than it ever was, perhaps as a result of the impact on the environment. Some people have a need to keep warm whilst outside. For example, for those who work outside in the winter they might use the old fashioned method of having a fire burning. There are many ways of staying warm using heating devices. In the old days people just used log fires and had to work hard to collect logs for the fireplace. We have moved on a long way since then, but there is still a need for the old fashioned ways of heating the home. In the case of someone staying in a log cabin with no other heating device then they would have to use an open fire. People who go camping also have a need for log fires.
