The nice thing with venue/caterer's white linen package is you can upgrade without breaking the bank and ensure your theme, colour scheme and vision are translated to your guests. Here are 3 tips on how you can do this...
1. Add chair sashes and/or table runners:
A colourful chair sash ($0.75-$1.25 each) can add a punch of colour to your boring white reception decor. Or add a table runner for only $6 per table, even more affordable.
2. Drape the head & cake table:
Head & cake table draping can range from $350-$450 depending on the decorator's experience, type and amount of fabric used, size of table etc. The wedding party is the main focal point in the room so you want to make it simply beautiful. This is a great place to invest some of your decor budget as a majority of the time people will be looking here.
3. Invest in lighting:
Lighting is generally inexpensive and can include anything from romantic candlelight to production lighting. If you venue doesn't allow open flame, try using a lantern, covered in a vase, floating candle or hide LED lighting that looks like flickering candles. You can also add full room lighting to create a mood and atmosphere and is not as expensive as most would think usually $25-$30 per light installed.
