Starcraft 2 has many different rush strategies for players to give them some quick wins. You may have heard of some of these strategies:
The Zergling/Baneling Rush
The Mutalisk Rush
These rush strategies pale in comparison to the speed of the Drone rush. This strategy involves a very fast early attack with your Drones before your opponent as any idea what has hit them.
The Strategy
When the game starts, you should begin by setting all of your Drones to work on your mineral fields and build a new Drone with your initial 50 minerals. Now, assuming you are on a map where you are not sure where your opponents is located, you should send out 1-2 Drones and begin scouting to find your opponents base. We want to catch your opponent off guard as quickly as possible so you need to scout to find your opponent. This way you don't need to waste any time later trying to find your opponents base.
While your Drones are scouting you can still continue to build Drones up to 10/10 population. Hopefully, by the time you've hit your population cap your scouts should have found your opponents base. Now you should group all 10 of your Drones and head towards the enemies base. Don't bother building an Overlord to get past 10 population, you won't need it. Now you can focus on controlling your Drones and start attacking your opponents workers on his mineral field.
Typically, your opponent will not be ready for pressure this early. If he kills any Drones, build a new one at your hatchery as soon as possible and send them to your opponents base. Otherwise, continue killing any workers he produces and attack his Nexus, Command Center, or Hatchery.
That's all there is to it. But remember this will only get you so far. You need learn about other strategies if you want a chance of making it to the Diamond league.
