subject: Ways To Maintain A Pool's Cleanliness [print this page]

To have a swimming pool requires a commitment to continuous maintenance. If swimming pools are left untended, algae start to grow, turning the water in the swimming pool green.

The swimming pool needs regular scheduled maintenance so that algae and bacteria will not start to grow and infect the water in the swimming pool. With the water kept clean, you will enjoy swimming without the worries of getting sick.

Cleanliness of the water can be monitored by using a test kit. This is not so expensive and with the help of this, you will know the level of chemicals you need to put in the water. There are however, different conditions as a sort of reactions caused by the chemicals. So, find these few tips to help you maintain your pool and enjoy swimming the whole summer:

It is not enough to treat the water in the pool. The walls and bottom of the pool also have to be scrubbed as algae can gather on them. Using a quality vacuum cleaner on the bottom can make cleaning it easier and faster.

There are automatic robot vacuums that can clean the pool when no one is swimming in it. Though expensive, they are worth the price. Make sure to skim the debris at the top of the pool if you get one. Debris can clog the vacuum and break it.

Second, make it a regular habit of checking the cleanliness of the filter. Clean filters make it easier to clean the swimming pool with lesser power consumption.

There are classes of filters, one is paper filter which is to be changed regularly. The other one is sand filter which i used, need to be backwash to keep it in good shape.

The weather also has an effect on the chemical condition of the water in the swimming pool. Strong rain and winds can easily dilute the chemicals you apply on the water.

This is also true during hot and humid weather. During extreme weather conditions, make sure to implement a higher dose treatment that can keep the water clean for you swim.
