subject: Online Marketing for Chiropractors in the New Era [print this page]

A few years ago, almost no one was thinking about online marketing for chiropractors, but in this age it's almost a given that you must use internet based tools to make yourself visible to potential new patients. The easy part is launching a website, but that is just the beginning.

Why is online marketing for chiropractors so important? Because everyone uses the internet as an information source for just about everything. The telephone book is fast becoming outdated and unnecessary for anyone with internet access. Before you can find the telephone book, you can easily type in the name of a business and have the telephone number or launch a topic based search.

If a person wants to find a chiropractor, they type in a location and the search word. Immediately, they have a listing of every chiropractor that is legal and registered for the area of interest. They click on the chiropractors who have websites, and the ones who don't have an online presence are typically ignored.

Information processing is so fast today that finding anything a person wants only takes seconds with the correct Google search phrase. The chiropractor who doesn't get on board with online practice marketing is going to depend solely on references by patients and expensive advertising. Many potential patients will be lost because of the failure to adapt to current technology.

Every professional chiropractor should get a site up quickly when going into business. Tweaking it and working on SEO can be an ongoing project, but establishing a site is the first and foremost thing to accomplish.

Unlike an internet commerce site, the chiropractors site can be a simple page of text and video offering the address, phone number, and hours of service, and for an experienced webmaster, the site can be up and running in a very short time (less than a day).

Established chiropractic professionals should already have a web presence, and if they have worked on their sites and generated search engine traffic, they may already be at the top of the search results for chiropractors in their city. Any chiropractor who delays launching an online presence is losing business and marketing opportunities.

Once the website is up, the marketing part comes into play. Relevant and informative content should be added to the website or blog. Articles should then be created to submit to article directories and link back to the website content. This is known as article marketing and link building, and it increases traffic and helps the clinic rank for specific keywords in search results.

If you are one of five chiropractors in your local area and the only one without a website, don't wonder why your phone doesn't ring. Launch a website and start marketing. Online marketing is a necessity for your chiropractic clinic, not an option if you want to be successful.
