subject: Information On Seeds To Sprouts [print this page]

Growing is the practice of soaking, draining and rinsing seeds at normal intervals until they sprout. These are simple to make; you only need some water,a cool temperature and some pots to place it in.

Make sure that when sprouting the following conditions are met:1.There should be enough air for the sprouts to be able to breathe. Without air, sprouts will develop molds and rot effortlessly.2.Sprouts must be drenched in water every 12 hours. It is necessary that the sprouts must have enough water or it will rot or die.3.Temperature must be controlled. If it gets too hot, sprouts will die. If it's too cold, sprouts will develop slower than should be.4.Give sprouts enough space for development. Overfilling the sprouts will make the sprouts compete for air, light and water and lead to disastrous results.5.Several sprouts need light and many don't. Be sure you know which is which because if sprouts get the wrong amount of light, it may die.6.You can even add liquid nutrient to the water to give sprouts an added boost. You can use jars, trays, bags and cloth to grow sprouts. Jars are the most commonly used but not the most ideal because it doesn't have that much space anddrainage can be a problem. This is good for sprouts that do not need light.

Jars are the most commonly used but not the most ideal because it doesn't have that much space anddrainage can generate problems. This is good for sprouts that do not need light. Make certain that the jars are kept at an angle to allow for proper drainage.Trays are best used for sprouts that need light as possible evenly distributed because of the large, even surface. It also allows the sprout to grownaturally upward. It would be best to put the tray in mini greenhouse to be able to raise and regulate the temperature and slows water loss.

What happens in the process of sprouting?

1.Soak the organic seeds for about eight hours or even overnight. Make sure that they are drenched in lots of water. Some larger seeds require more so make sure to read up on the specific seeds that you have. You can also add some liquid nutrients to give them an extra boost.2.Rinse the sprouts every 12 hours (or more, depending on its needs).3.Drain the sprouts thoroughly. Any water left can lead to rotting. You can place them in an angle to properly drain the water off or you can usea tissue to remove excess water. Be sure not to leave the tissue there as it can overdrain and dry out the sprouts4. Harvest sprouts very carefully by pulling out the ripe ones one at time. Be careful not to disturb the unripe sprouts.5.If you're not going to use it yet, put the sprouts in a plastic bag and store in a dark, cool place and rinse them every three days or so.Here a few recipes you can prepare using sprouts.
