subject: Be More Confident With Self Hypnosis [print this page]

Do you ever wonder why some people just seem to be more at ease in any situation than others? Some people just seem to shine no matter what the situation. This is due to confidence. If you want to be one of those people hypnosis can help.

Now I know what you are thinking. The same thing most people think when they hear hypnosis. You are seeing a dimly lit lounge with a guy in a cheap tuxedo making grown men bark like a dog whenever they say the word biscuit. This does happen, but there is another side to hypnosis.

First off, what is hypnosis? Webster's Dictionary defines Hypnosis as a trancelike state that resembles sleep but is induced by a person whose suggestions are readily accepted by the subject. What this means is that you are put into a relaxed state. When you are in this state you are more susceptible to suggestion. In this state you can be "retrained" to make changes in your behavior.

Hypnosis can be used to help with many problems, everything from a lack of confidence to more energy to a better sleep. Hypnosis is not a cure all; rather it is a weapon in your arsenal to help in the achieving your goals. There are many benefits to hypnosis. It is easy to do, is relatively inexpensive, and there have been no negative side effects associated with it.

Hypnosis has been shown to help reduce stress, keep you focused and relaxed, and that is the basis of confidence. By entering the hypnotic state you are both very relaxed and focused. When you are in this state you can learn about yourself. You can find out what is stopping you and break through those roadblocks. To put it simply you can get more confidence in yourself and your abilities.

While you are under hypnosis you learn on the subconscious level. This is the level where the hypnotherapist can find a situation where you were confident in the past. Using this information the therapist can associate these feelings with a simple physical action. It could be something as simple as wiggling your toes. This simply connects the feelings to the action.

Then by repeating this action the feelings associated with it will be evoked. By knowing this whenever you do not feel confident you can just wiggle your toes and the feelings of confidence will come back. You can think of this as building a bridge. This is a bridge between feelings and actions. Once a bridge is built it can be traveled on both ways to get to a destination.

Take a moment and think about your life. Think of some past experiences and what the outcome could have been if you were more confident. You can be one of those people that no matter what is happening around you, you will be more at ease and able to shine. You can have the confidence to go after your goals and live the life that you want to live.
