subject: Leading Edge Laser Tube Cutting Technology Introduced In Ohio [print this page]

Increasing its tube cutting and pipe cutting capabilities, Ohio Laser recently installed a new 3600 Watt Trumpf TruLaser 7000 laser tube cutting system complementing its high-tech metal fabrication business. Considered by industry experts to be the most advanced in the world, this laser tube cutting machine is the first of its kind in the Midwest.

Tubes and pipes (square, rectangular and round) with up to inch wall thicknesses and .6" to 10" in diameter can be processed by this new German-built laser tube cutting machine. Up to 30 feet tubes with a max weight of 500 pounds can be handled.

The system can work hours at a time without human intervention due to its automated loading system that accommodates up to 8000 lbs at a time.

This new advanced tube cutting technology offers many automated features. Using automated parts programming, fast and efficient setup times are accomplished when changing jobs. The system's self-centering jaws that do not need changed and rollers that guide the tubes through the machine automatically adjusting to their diameter are another key feature. Additionally, at any given time, the laser focal point of the system auto adjusts to the thickness of the tubes and the material type. Because the system's software independently adjusts to the focus parameters, it eliminates any setup time.

Laser tube cutting and pipe cutting offers several key benefits including no tooling charges, reduced lot sizes, elimination of stack up tolerances inherent in multiple operations, and processing of an assortment of metals.

Additionally, weld fixture costs are reduced while production output is increased with the kink or plug in connections which the tube cutting machine can produce.

This leading-edge industrial tube cutting system offers numerous benefits to manufacturers in many industries. This new system provides speed and efficiency in manufacturing many items made from cut tubes such as racks, frames, supports, trusses and manifolds.

Some of the most common products manufactured with this laser tube cutting technology include playground equipment, weightlifting wall mounts, outdoor sign frames, railing, bar fixtures, garment racks, store fixtures, industrial tables, display cases, ATVs, racking systems, etc.
