Chicago, Illinois is known to have two separate baseball teams. The one that is the most popular is the Chicago White Sox. The Chicago White Sox was known to become part of the major baseball league as early as 1901. During their time in the game, they have already won two major world series. The first world series was won in 1906 with the second following eleven years later in 1917. Due to the strong players that the Chicago White Sox have been known to create, the fans have given the team a nick name known as the "South Siders".

Seeing as the team has been around for quite some time, the Chicago White Sox have had a number of changes in their uniform. The Chicago White Sox were known as the first team in sporting history that put their player names on the back of their jersey. The Chicago White Sox have had a famous logo since 1912. The logo compromises for the word SOX in a diagonal layout. All three letters are intertwined.

The colors for the teams uniform changed in 1964. The home uniform colors changed from black to blue whereas the away uniform changed from gray to pale blue. The home uniform changed its colors once again in 1976 where it went from red back to navy blue.

Other parts of the uniform were also known to be changed quite often. One of the most apparent changes in the Chicago White Sox uniform was the Sox logo itself. The current uniform has a modern looking "Sox" logo that is bold in front. The logo is completed with the name of the state Chicago, running across the remainder of the jersey. There was quite a big controversy on the Chicago White Sox wearing shorts in 1976. After being given a negative response from the fans, they went back to wearing trousers.

The new owners of the Chicago White Sox that took over in 1981 came up with a plan to get the fans themselves to design the team's uniform. The owners; Jerry Reinsfdorf and Eddie Einhorn felt this was a great way to get the fans involved into the team.

The new design was the word "SOX" written across the front of the jersey in the same font, inside of a large blue stripe trimmed with red. After five years the uniform was changed and replaced with a basic styled uniform which had "White Sox" written on the front.

Many people have liked many previous Chicago White Sox uniforms including that one that is used today. Most Chicago White Sox enthusiasts have demanded the opportunity to be able to purchase uniforms of both old and new designs. Due to the high numbers of demand, the Chicago White Sox have launched these products for sale on their official website.

The Chicago White Sox uniform is not the only items that are being sold on the official website. Another product that is quite popular amongst the fans which is also available is the teams mascot.
