subject: Hispanic Scholarships [print this page]

Just like there are scholarships for Africans or scholarships for Native Americans, there are also Hispanic scholarships. These scholarships help Hispanics in the United States of America to finance their education at different levels of education ranging from elementary to college or university education.

Hispanics are the nation's fastest-growing population in Texas and the United States and the largest ethnic minority in the United States. Nevertheless, Hispanics have the highest high school dropout rate and also the lowest college graduation rate. Therefore these Hispanic scholarships are to encourage and help Hispanics in the United States to go to school and also graduate.

Some of these Hispanic scholarships are awarded locally in different geographical locations or generally throughout the country. Some of them are awarded to Hispanics studying outside the United States of America.

The following is a list of foundations that offer Hispanic scholarships:

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund: The Hispanic Scholarship Fund's mission is to strengthen America by advancing the college education of Hispanic Americans. Over thirty years, The Hispanic Scholarship Fund has awarded over three hundred million dollars in scholarships to Hispanic students

Latino College Dollars: This is a website created by a non-profit organization that advances informed policy on main problems affecting Latino communities through objective and timely research contributing to the betterment of the nation through offering scholarships.
