subject: Macs Vs. Pcs - Why You Should Buy A Mac [print this page]

If youre a born and raised PC user and are looking into getting a new computer, you may have looked into getting a Mac. You can gather tons and tons of facts, but its hard to really know who wins the Macs vs. PCs battle. Well, Im here to tell you that it does. Macs are by far superior to PCs for many reasons, and Im here to give you 5 good reasons why youll thank yourself forever for switching to a Mac.

Macs have better graphics. The new MacBook Pros are equipped with the best graphics card on the market, enhancing your gaming and/or movie experience.

Macs are more reliable. I'm sure you've heard that Macs don't get viruses, and it's true. The computing world is still predominantly using Windows-based computers, and therefore hackers are creating viruses that only target these computers.

Macs run programs more effectively. In Mac laptops, both the hardware and the software are made by Apple. PCs, on the other hand, have Microsoft designed software, and contain hardware built by the many PC manufacturers. The fact that the computer parts and software originate from so many different places often creates a lack of harmonization; how can you expect all these foreign players to work well together?

Macs are easier to use. Macs have an extremely clean and appealing workflow, as opposed to PCs that tend to lose their users in the jumble of windows. Simliar operations require fewer keystrokes on a Mac than on a PC.

Macs cost less money! This goes against everything you've ever heard or seen, right? The fact is that although Macs have a higher initial purchase cost, they have a lower cost of ownership and higher quality of computer experience. This compares to buying a Ford Escort vs. a Mercedes Benz. Although the Mercedes costs more initially, it guzzles less fuel, costs less in insurance, and requires less servicing; over the time of ownership, the Mercedes (and Mac) costs less!

When it comes to Macs vs. PCs, the choice is simple, really. If you want a cheap computer that will bust within a couple years, or be infiltrated by countless viruses, go ahead and get a PC. Or you could pay $4000 for a really good PC. But if you want an easy-to-use, reliable, and fun tool that wont require expensive upgrades or repairs in the future, your only choice is to buy a Mac.
