Maxalt (Rizatriptan) medication is used for treating headache. Maxalt generic Rizatriptan medication regulates by narrowing down the blood vessels at the brain. This medication also helps in decreasing the chemical in the body which can lead to pain in the head, nausea disorder and sensitiveness while exposing to the light, sound or other condition related to migraine disorder. This medication can also be used for treating migraine headache. It treat headache that has already started but this medication does not cure or decrease the number of the attack. This medication is not for treating minor headache problem. This medication should only if it is a migraine problem.
How should I take this medication?
The dosage of this medication should be taken according to the recommendation made by the doctor. Do not skip the medication, make a regular timing for taking this medicine and if you forget to take this medication, take Maxalt 10mg immediately if there is time for your regular schedule. Let the medication dissolve in the mouth, do not chew or swallowed the tablet. Your doctor might also need to change the dosage and frequency based on how your body responds to the drug. There are some of the severe Maxalt side effects of this medication such as contraction or pain of the chest, pain of arms or shoulder, nausea feeling, excess sweating, sickness, numbness, weakness, headache, nervousness, unclear vision, problem of speech or balance, stomach problem, diarrhea problem, pricking, change of color of fingers or toes, agitating behavior and unconsciousness. This medication may cause dryness of mouth, minor pain fo jaw, neck or throat and dizzy feeling. Beside this, Maxalt Rizatriptan may also cause side effect due to allergic reaction such as hives, breathlessness, swelling on face, lips, tongue, and throat.
What precautions do I need to follow while using Maxalt?
Maxalt 10 mg medication should not be used in the patients who have a prior record of heart disorder, chest problem, bowel contraction (ischemic, uncontrollable pressure of blood without consulting the doctor. Do not used Maxalt drug at-least for 14 days if you are using any alter drug such as Marplan, Parnate, Azilect, Zelapar or Anipryl. This medication should not be used in the patient who is suffering from kidney, liver or heart disorder and coronary arteries diseases without consulting the doctor and if the patient is suffering from any of this disorder then there might be a need of adjustment of dosage. Make sure you also let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or a lactating mother.
