After your guest arrive, you should circulate among them, observe and enjoy. Always keep a watchful eye on your mate, your children, or anyone that might need a gentle reminder to behave.

Watch to ensure that the food is being passed around everyone. As you circulate among your guest, make introductions, and start conversations, then move on. You may even choose to help pass around the food, as a way of ensuring that you visit with more guest, yet have an excuse to move on quickly.

If done correctly, by midpoint, your party should take on a life of its own. You should be able to detect an air of excitement and enjoyment in the atmosphere, that are not found in small parties. If people stay a long time, you know you have a hit on your hands. On time departures do not necessarily mean failure. It may simply mean that your guest have to go to work the next day. Usually one person leaving signals the beginning of the end.

You will know your guest had a good time if they leave high on conversation, food and laughter. You can confidently pat yourself on the back. You obviously know how to give a party for a crowd.
