If you are going for the wow factor, turn off the light switch and use a zillion candles instead. Eyes will shine, and your guest will glow. Short of pulling a rabbit out of a hat, candles are the best magic you can perform at your party.
If you prefer dripless candles, put them in your freezer for twenty-four hours. After removing them from the freezer, you can store them at room temperature until ready to use. It doesn't matter how far in advance that you do this. After the freezing process, the candles should never drip.
It goes without saying, use extreme caution when positioning your candles. Place them where they are not likely to get knocked over, and keep them far away from flammables, such as drapes, dried flower arrangements, etc. Keep a few fire extinguishers on hand and the fire department's phone number near by, just in case.
