Whether you are an entertainer, a balloon decorator, someone who loves to impress children with his creativity or if you want to make extra money with your balloon business, learning how to make balloon shapes can be a great skill to learn.

If you are interested to learn some tips and tricks on how to make balloon shapes, otherwise known as balloon modeling or twisting, here are a few things that might help you.

Use quality balloons. Especially if you are a balloon decorator who wants to impress your clients with great animal-shaped balloons or any other designs you plan to make, make sure that you use quality brands that allow you to twist and create designs professionally and make them last for the whole duration of the party or longer. Of course, you don't want to make projects that will burst before even the party started.

Use a hand pump in inflating the balloons. Unless you want to impress kids and try to show them balloon twisting with just one shape, you may blow it with your mouth, but of course if you are dealing with lots of them, a hand pump can be the wisest way to go about it and avoid embarrassment as well.

Leave a space at the tail end if you are inflating the balloon. Take note that you will be twisting it and the pressure of twisting can make it pop or burst especially if you are making lots of twists. As you make more twists, it can increase the pressure of air and may cause your balloons to burst if there are no available spaces inside. Keep in mind that the more twists you plan to do with your design, the more space you have to allot as well.

Start twisting on the nozzle end working towards the tail end. This will help you push the air into the unfilled spaces and allows you to work with your design with more ease.

Make sure you twist balloons with dry clean hands. Also make sure not to allow children to play with the uninflated balloons or those that you will still be twisting as it can make the balloon sticky and will make it difficult to twist.
