Men and women alike need to be fashionable even in the workplace. These people need to dress up right in order to look more professional and gain the respect of their colleagues as well as clients. People also need to be fashionable in order to look more beautiful.

The most popular formal wear for men is probably the dress shirt, matched with a tie and a pair of trousers, which is commonly worn as an office attire. Others, however, choose to put on a suit vest instead to gain a more professional image.

But then, wearing dress shirts and ties almost every day can be boring. Some fashion insiders even say that seeing such outfit regularly worn can become quite an eyesore to people who have a fierce sense towards fashion. Nevertheless, the impact of a well prepared dress shirt cannot be denied. If carefully chosen and creatively mixed and matched with other fashions wear, there is no reason for suits to develop into dull outfits.

Here are some tips on how to improve your total image:

1.) Create combinations. Men do not really need to frequently buy a new suit vest or designer tuxedo to achieve that elegant and updated look. Even simple dress shirts can make anyone look fabulous - that is if these outfits are paired with smart outfits. Printed shirts, for example, may be paired with a plain and subtly designed neck tie. The color of the pants used should also compliment that of the shirt. Now, vice versa, printed ties are usually better paired with plain shirts.

2.) Choose identical colors. Make sure the color of your tie is always slightly darker than the color of your shirt. For example, if you are wearing a plain grey shirt, opt to use a black bow tie or neck tie with it. Then put on a suit for a complete professional image. Make sure the vest is in natural tones like light tan or traditional colors such as black, dark grey, or navy blue.

3.) Consider the design. Earlier it was emphasized that printed dress shirts or ties can be used for added drama. However, people should be careful in the prints they choose as some can be a little tacky or overboard for the office. Don't use Hawaiian themed prints or anything that signifies a particular occasion or a cartoon character for that matter. It will offset your look. Aim for neutral shapes in prints or textures. They are far safer to use.

Men, like women, can also experiment with their clothes. They can create new combinations for more unique appearance. They can also accessorize to enhance and eventually complete their outfit.

Improving one's total image certainly does not have to be expensive. Individuals need not always buy the latest formal wear online or whatever is currently being shown in fashion televisions. To reiterate, even plain shirts that are still in tip-top shape can be used to show off one's personal fashion sense. Wear something that makes you confident. Put on a relatively affordable shirt and mix it up with whatever is in your wardrobe right now. Experiment and discover new looks you can create without spending more. After all, a person's total image is a result of both external and internal factors such as the type of clothes a person wears and the person's sense of confidence as he wears such clothes.
