subject: Self Awareness 32 Conscious of Unconsciousness [print this page] Self Awareness Course 32 - Conscious of Consciousness
The more conscious you are of how conscious you are, the more conscious you are also going to be of when you go unconscious. In other words, if you are checking in with yourself and observing your state of consciousness regularly, then whenever you go unconscious again you are more likely going to catch yourself early. You go unconscious, less often. When you go unconscious, it doesn't last as long or affect you as much as long as you are conscious of what your mind is doing.
So you see, if you are watching your mind, observing it, you can catch yourself going unconscious quickly. This keeps you from getting stuck in anger, fear, limiting beliefs, or whatever the story is, or whatever drama your mind creates or reacts to. You are either conscious or you are not, but who decides?
If you're conscious of what your thinking, if you're conscious of how conscious you are, you'll begin to notice when you go unconscious and you can stop yourself before being swept away in your own self generated contacted mental states. As you become more conscious, you'll notice shifts quicker. You don't tend to go unconscious as much, or as often, or for as long. With practice you'll find it doesn't get you as bad, you catch it quicker, its easier to work with you work through it quicker. Whatever that "it" is. You bounce back, that's the power of being conscious. So the more conscious you are, the more conscious you are, just be conscious of that.
