subject: Pat Robertson: Still The Best Television Presenter [print this page]

Marion Gordon Robertson, better known by the name Pat Robertson, born March 22, 1930, is a Baptist televangelist Protestant (Southern Baptist), an entrepreneur and political activist in the conservative Christian right in the United States.

As a Baptist, he founded many organizations including: Christian Broadcasting Network, the Christian Coalition, etc..

He is the presenter of the television show The 700 Club, repeated on many networks in the United States of America, and networks affiliated with CBN. His uncompromising conservatism won him many controversies, particularly against separation of church and state and group behavior and judge it in sin, including homosexuals, supporters of abortion. Robertson is a member of the Republican Party, which he was an unsuccessful candidate for nomination for the presidential election of 1988.

In exchange for lobbying for the President of Liberia Charles Taylor, later charged with crimes against humanity, he obtained a concession on a gold mine.

In his book "New World Order" he says that Jews, Freemasons and Illuminati are conspiring to achieve world domination.

Pat Robertson is a stream called "Christian Zionism" who thinks that Jewish colonization of Palestinian territories and the gathering of Jews in the Holy Land as a condition for the return of Jesus on earth.

Thus, the decision of the Israeli government of Ariel Sharon to withdraw from the Gaza Strip in 2005 has been very badly received by him. In his program "The 700 Club" on Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), it implies that the stroke of Ariel Sharon was divine vengeance against the withdrawal from Gaza:

"God feels hostility towards those who divide His land And every Prime Minister of Israel who decides to divide it and give it up, God said:" No, this is Mine. " Ariel Sharon dividing God's land ".Declaration, which also seems to interpret the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin as a divine punishment.

Pat Robertson said in a television show American (700 Club) Haiti is damned for having made a pact with the devil at the time of their revolt against the French presence, which led to independence in 1804.

"Something happened long ago in Haiti, and people prefer not to talk about," he said Jan. 13, 2010 when it was issued to CBN (Christian Broadcast Network). "The slaves were under the yoke of the French, you know, Napoleon III or something. They got together and made a pact with the devil. They said: "We will serve you if you release us from the French yoke." It is a true story. And the Devil said, "Okay, bargain."

"And they drove the French from the island," said Robertson. Haitians revolted and emancipated. But since that time, the curse is going after them. "

It appears that Robertson's comments have originated in the history of Dutty Boukman, who ordered the lifting of a large number of slaves after they have been drinking the night of August 14, 1791, the blood of a black pig during a voodoo ceremony. This ceremony was intended to make slaves invulnerable. Robertson, however, is in error when he identifies the French government during the reign of Napoleon III, since these events that occurred several years before the birth of the second French emperor.
