No one likes being awakened rudely by blasting music from the neighbors or being interrupted while busy at work in an office. Even the people who are making the noise don't like being interrupted either, unfortunately most people don't realize the noise they are making.

Noise always has a source. It is either coming from our neighbours or it is coming from our side. Before noise pollutes the entire community, it would be wise to find a solution through soundproofing the source. If it is coming from your end of the neighbourhood, then it is about time to start working.

Aside from the doors, walls that have some openings in it are entry points of noise. When these openings are not filled, sound may be travel through it, going in and out of the place. These require covering or sealing.

When you double wall a wall, there is a gap in between. You can fill in the gaps by putting soundproffing foam in order not allow the sound to travel and pass through the walls. These are the areas that most likely cannot defend against noise.

Also, neighbors will be inclined to see you in a more positive light if they see you are making an effort to make their lives better by soundproofing your home. This can also have the effect of raising your home's market value.

Certainly, if an interested buyer learns of the soundproof capabilities of your place, they will be encouraged to purchase it compared to one that has not yet been installed. Just think of the noise pollution that can easily spread to a place that has not been soundproofed. With a reasonable budget, one can already start with soundproofing one's place easily.
