People are always asking me about the attitudes and philosophies that have led to my success. I think there are many which distinguish me from others who haven't yet succeeded, and I thought I'd share my top ten.
Top 10 Home Based Business Success Strategies
1. Complete responsibility-If you're blaming anyone or anything for your problems, you'll never be successful. Resolve to take 100% responsibility for everything that happens in your life, even if you can't see how you caused it and are sure it's somebody else's fault.
2. Accountability-There's nothing more telling than how much you can count on someone's word. When I say I'm going to do something, I do it. Every time. It becomes the driving force of my life, and not following through would be unthinkable. Be that way if you want to be trusted.
3. Integrity-My word is golden. Not only my word to others but my word to myself. When I make a commitment to myself, it's no less important than one I make to others. By living that habit, I begin to trust my words, and then when I set a goal, I know I'll achieve it.
4. Perspective-You need to be able to see things from the right angle. If you're upset or disempowered, you're not seeing things right. From the right angle, everything is perfect. Learn to step back from a situation and see it from the right perspective, and you'll become happier and more relaxed.
5. Belief-You have to master your own belief systems to be successful. If you don't think something's possible, you'll never achieve it no matter how hard you work. And you'll always think your results or lack thereof are coming from outside yourself. Completely untrue!
6. Mindfulness-The problem with mastering your beliefs is that you first have to know what they are. And if you're operating on automatic, you'll never know what's actually driving you. If you're not doing a discipline to strengthen your ability to see yourself clearly, you'll only achieve what your programmed mind allows. And that's usually not much.
7. Humor-You have to stop taking this all so seriously! Observe your shortcomings and those of others from a place of humor. Relax. You know how they say, "Someday we'll look back at this and laugh." Why wait!?
8. Love- It's easy to get so caught up in trying to achieve success that you forget why you're doing it. Love is the answer. Love is the motivation. Love is the only logical reason for even attempting to be successful in the first place. If your efforts are causing pain and isolation, stop!
9. Vision-You have to know what you're trying to achieve, and you have to create a vision of the outcome. Not just any vision, but a compelling one. Find the image within the image. Of all the snapshots you could take of your exciting future, which is the one that excites you most. When you find it, put that one in front of youand keep it there!
10. Precession-This is the idea that often the goals you're striving toward are actually only excuses to get you into action so that more important, unexpected results will arise. Many exciting and world-altering discoveries were made when an inventor stumbled onto something in the process of seeking something else. Do what you're doing with diligence, but be open to the possibility that something unexpected and infinitely better might come along.
