Ethnic mix
A lot of different nationalities come together in Almere. This means lots of different cuisines and therefore lots of choices in food. Don't worry about any language barrier, many people speak English because they don't master the Dutch language themselves. The Dutch speak English too, so there's no need to feel left out.

Almere is a small city, and though they do work and have reasons to be stressed out, the people are easygoing and relaxed. Friendly and helpful, the locals enjoy the fresh air coming from the water. The city is surrounded by nature and people make the most of it.

Almere is easily reached by train or bus and it seems like almost every road ends up in the centre. The city is devided in several areas, but they are all within reach by foot or bike. Buses go on and forth, so if you don't feel like walking, sit back and relax.
