Golf started from a game played from hitting a pebble around a natural course of sand dunes using a stick or club made from wood. It was Scotland who introduced the hole that gave golf its uniqueness from just hitting a ball around. With the rise of golf it became very popular around the Scottish citizens and they were very enthusiastic about the game.

The Ban of Golf in Scotland:

Fifty years later with the game loved by played and loved by so many Scotland was in a hard position. England was planning an invasion and Scotland's neglect of military training due to the pursuit of golf of their citizens resulted in their parliament banning the sport of golf in 1457.

Golf is back!

It was not till 50 years later until the sport was taken off ban from James 1 of England who took up the sport. Ever since the King started playing the sport grew in popularity again and the pursuit of golf took off again.

1900 - Golf was declared as an Olympic sport
