Do you want to optimize your Bookmarking? Want to be listed as the number one at all the Social Bookmarking sites? Bookmarking started out as saving links to sites you would like to share with others. This could be with your friends, like-minded people or just the rest of the world. Soon Social Bookmarking sites started to appear that eventually got control of sharing interests. And now you want to share something too. To start out, you will have need information that will be appealing to others. If you know exactly what you want to share, you will have to write down a title and words that describe the content. This will be known as the headline of your submission along with tags. Getting the right headline for your submission is one the most important things that people can't seem to get right. Applying a title that is really attractive and luring to click might disappoint people, resulting in many negative ratings and your submission will soon be removed. But be too subtle, and you will not receive any clicks at all. The tags are less important, but still need to be applied with care. Do not use tags that no one will use, but keep it simple. Also avoid tags that are already popular and therefore you will not be able to compete with it. If your submission is very focused on a specific item, you could use mistyped words to increase traffic that normally would be redirected. Social Bookmarking sites have become more and more based on amateurs that submit new items and make them known for others. But they also rely on amateurs to rate these sites and to keep the lists fresh and reliable for the public. Do not try to break this cycle with adding something new, but try to learn from the top submitted links. Most Social Bookmarking sites tend to have a different fan base, try to notice if they keep it funny or professional. If you have doubts, you can submit multiple kinds of styles. Reddit for example keeps their top lists funny and new. Adding a really serious technology article will not give you many positive votes. The Social Bookmark site Delicious tends to go for more soft- and hardware related articles. Not every day is the same tough, sometimes the weekends can be more fun oriented and the Mondays will be a day were it all resets to serious submissions. But there is more. Social Bookmarking sites often use sections where you can place your submissions. Even if you feel like the Social Bookmarking site is not fitted for you, you can still get a small amount of visitors that will perhaps result in a royal fan base from that section. Do not try to post in multiple sections that have nothing in common with your submission, this will be considered spam.
