subject: HTC Wildfire Soft-rooted! [print this page]

HTC Wildfire users to enjoy! Well, but first needed. HTC Wildfire was rooted to some extent by the user on the XDA MartinEve. Do not unlock the NAND(not the custom ROM, sorry), but it allows running applications that require access to the root! Administrator, yay!

As always, you have to be super cautious of this. Here are instructions for a soft root-Wildfire

You must be adb have a job. Download and install Superuser.apk from the market.( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682828 ) Download MartinEve SoftRoot package( http://www.martineve.com/wildfiresof k / SoftRoot.apk ) Execute from the command prompt in the directory in which the downloaded SoftRoot.apk: Windows: adb install SoftRoot.apk Linux: adb install. / SoftRoot.apk

SoftRoot Run the application that is already installed. The application will now crash. Wait 2 seconds, close it and youre rooted. You will need to carry out step 4, only after each run. Thanks again MartinEve on the XDA-Developers for the soft-root! Well done!
