These animals are also known as living fossils. One of the best examples for this type of animals is the platypus, which has a duck-like bill, a webbed feet and a furry body. Australia is rich in venomous snakes and it holds many species of snakes with it. This continent is populated with many snake species when compared with all other continents. And this wonderland also rich in birds and it holds about 828 bird species with it. Australia with diverse oceans it holds about 22 000 types of fish and this continent is also home to the Great Barrier Reef, the world's largest coral reef system. Marine animals of this beautiful continent include the white shark, whale shark, dolphins and many more.
