subject: Making money with affiliate programs – Are there Myths? [print this page] Quality or Quantity Quality or Quantity
People assume that if you sign up to a lot of quality affiliate programs, it will make you more money. I find that hard to believe, considering that your lack of focus will hinder your efforts.
Making money instantly, its very unlikely
Build a website, put up your links, banners, designing a cool template or picking a nice theme for your website will not guarantee you instant income unless you have high traffic, products of quality and a targeted website that is a good fit for your affiliate program.
Depending on the person, making money with affiliate programs can take a week or several months. Don't get discourage, just stay consistent and your earning will increase in time.
Advertising: hard or easy
Just because your only duties will be advertising your products or services, don't think you can just put up a website and be successful. You will have to work hard and have great discipline, and stay motivated.
Will I receive a monthly check
You are required to earn a certain commission before affiliate programs pay you. They require you to meet a minimum threshold before you get paid. For example if an affiliate program have a minimum threshold or commission of $100.00, you will not be paid until your earnings meet or exceed $100.00. Everything you earn under that amount will rollover to the next month until you reach $100.00. Once this is done you will receive payment.
Is two-tiered affiliate programs more profitable
Unfortunately signing up more affiliates will not earn you more profits. I am not saying it is impossible, but the percentages or very low. So I advise you to just concentrate and work on maximizing your own efforts instead of efforts of others.
