subject: Cleveland Launcher Driver- The longest and straightest [print this page]

Tradition and technology collide to produce a conventional looking head that is far from conventional in performance. Boasting low spin, a midtrajectory and high MOI, it is the longest and straightest Launcher that Cleveland golf has ever produced. Beyond the head design, the longer, lighter Fujikura Fit-On Flightspeed shafts lead to higher swing speeds and additional yardage to make the new Launcher the complete package.

At only half a millimeter thick, the Cleveland Launcher Driver crown moves every bit of potential weight low and deep to improve the CG (center of gravity), optimizing launch conditions and maximizing distance. The sole's horseshoe weight pad also imporves launch conditions by localizing weight low and deep, imporivng both MOI (moment of inertia) and CG locations, while the largest Launcher face to date allows generous room for miss-hits.

Combining a high MOI, a medium trajectory and very low spin the 2009 Launcher produces more distance and accuracy than any other Cleveland Golf club. The new club has a 21% bigger face than its predecessors in the Launcher range to provide ample forgiveness on mishits while the perimeter sole's horseshoe shaped weight pad helps to improve MOI and the centre of gravity to help and stabilize launch conditions. The Cleveland Launcher Driver's crown is only half a millimeter thick which helps to maximize distance and combines with the light Fujikura Fit-On Flightspeed to deliver extra yards on every drive.

Features of the Cleveland Launcher Driver:

Face

At an astounding 21% larger than both the original Launcher 460 and Launcher Comp, it is the largest Launcher face to date, allowing generous room for miss-hits resulting in maximum forgiveness.

Crown

At only a half millimeter in thickness, the new Launcher crown is the thinnest possible, moving every bit of potential weight low and deep to improve the center of gravity, optimize launch conditions and maximize distance.

Perimeter Sole Weighting

The horseshoe-shaped weight pad on the rear perimeter of the sole significantly improves launch conditions and stability on miss-hits by localizing weight low and deep, improving both MOI and center of gravity location.
