Is it true that the Law of Attraction actually does exist and work for those using it? Or, have those hoping to sell cd's, tapes, books and seminars on the topic created hype around it in order to make more money?

The fact that you're asking these questions tells me you need Law of Attraction education more than anyone else. This "law" is absolutely real and runs the universe. Everything you have or don't have right now comes from how you've used this Law throughout your life.

This is a Law that you don't need to believe in or understand in order for it to work. Of course, as you gain insight into how it works, you're then able to use it properly to reverse all that is negative in your life and live out a positive, enjoyable life.

A good example of a universal Law working whether you believe in it or not is the Law of Gravity. Wouldn't you agree that this Law "works" whether you know about it, don't know about it or don't even believe in it? If you go up to the top of a tall building and throw a stone off, what's going to happen every time, no matter whether you refuse to believe in gravity or not?

The Law of Attraction "works" in exactly the same manner. This is because it has to do with how you think. Your mind determines how this Law works for you.

While there is much more to it than this, the basic undercurrent is that negative thought patterns produced by your mind bring negative events and/or people into your life. Positive thought patterns attract positive events and/or people to you.

It's as simple as that. However, as you learn more about the Law, you begin to understand that your emotions and feelings play a huge role in all this. It's important that you begin to get in touch with how you feel at any given time during each day of your life. If you feel good, you'll realize good life results. If you feel bad, watch out!

This is an area most folks struggle with in terms of the Law of Attraction. For example, after a car accident, a person may say, "But, I wasn't thinking about a car accident!"

This may very well be a true statement. However, what you must do is pay attention to how you felt after the accident. Did you feel frustration? Maybe anger? Or, was it a sense of loss of control? Whatever your emotions after the car accident, if you think hard, you'll recognize that you were feeling these emotions at some point in the not too distant past.

More negative events were being set up in your future as you experienced those negative thoughts or emotions. This is a never-ending cycle that too many people are creating in their lives with each passing thought. I encourage you to get all the Law of Attraction education you can and understand how to predict a wonderful future simply by feeling and thinking positively during each moment of your life.
