subject: Press Release Marketing: The Perfect Tool For Big And Small Companies [print this page]

When is the last time your company did something newsworthy?

That question is probably the most important question related to the promotion and marketing of your products and services. News, in today's day and age is defined as your message and content on a news and media site.

Every company does newsworthy things every single day. The problem is that most individuals in companies do not know how to promote their "news" effectively. People assume that if they are good enough they will get noticed and have their story covered by a reporter.

Nothing could be farther from the truth. Top businesses recognize the importance of relentless self promotion.

While I am not a fan of Paris Hilton we can learn a very important business principle from this superficial starlet. The one principle that this diva intrinsically understands is that she is "newsworthy" as long as other people talk about them. She recognizes that her power is completely derived by how much bandwidth she can capture of the paparazzi machine.

In her book, Confessions of an Heiress, Paris Hilton says:

"At parties, everyone always thinks I'm drinking--but actually I rarely drink. I live on energy drinks, basically. I LOVE Vitamin Water. I have cases in my house. I drink energy drinks and Vitamin Water all night. That's how I manage to stay up late and never smudge my makeup or mess up my hair. You can see all these girls leaving a party at the end of the night, and they look terrible because they were too out of it to reapply their makeup or even glance in a mirror. This is a huge mistake. People remember how you look when you leave as much as they remember how you looked when you arrived."

The mere fact that I mentioned Paris Hilton in this article empowered her. I consider this brief paragraph from her book to be a witness to "newsworthiness." Her logic is idiotic. Her grammar is horrific. Her values are non existent. However in the language of a self promoting capitalist, all is forgiven because she ended up on a news site with that story.

I've heard Paris Hilton being interviewed and I seriously doubt she could spell the word IQ let along have one. But as far as self promotion is concerned there are few people around who create as much of a media frenzy as the blonde heiress. She recognizes that her power is completely derived from being newsworthy and having her content on other peoples minds.

The online world is really no different.

In the online world power is determined by what your communication is connected to.

That is exactly where Press Release Marketing comes in. The purpose of an online press release is to place your companies message on the most powerful news and media portals. This simple action will accomplish two very important objectives.

1) Your companies story, message and offer gets placed on the highest quality sites online.

2)The links from the press release which now reside on these media portals empower your web page indefinitely.

Links literally are the currency of the internet. Traditionally people can click on a link on type in the url of your web page. Better than 99% of the time people click on a link.

Since a link is the preferred method which people travel online whoever has the most quality oriented links wins the traffic generation battle in their niche.

Press release marketing is the ideal solution for companies small and large. It cuts through the noise of the online world and places your message on the most powerful sites online. Hopefully, you realize how newsworthy you really are now.

This principle has always worked for Paris Hilton and it will work for you as well.
