The proper name for going bald is Androgenetic Alopecia, accounting for around 95% of most reported cases of male hair loss it is most certainly the number one reason for male baldness. It is not however the only reason. Other reasons can be due to stress, diet, health issues or taking some types of medicine.

This form of baldness is usually easy to recognise as its symptoms are quite classic, initially the hairline will start to recede, more so near the brow and temples, the hair often will start to thin at the back of the head leaving the back and sides with regular hairgrowth.Many men are affected by this problem, while some are ready to embrace their lack of hair, many men battle against it and make the decision to attempt to halt the hair loss in its tracks. Occassionly hair loss can be inherited, general rule of thumb is that if there are other males in your family who have lost hair, the chance is that so will you.

What has affected other family members is often a good guide, but other reasons come into play, age and testosterone levels are also thought to be causes with hereditary hair loss
