subject: Guild Wars 2: Beware of fake emails [print this page] Especially followers of the role play Guild Wars should be in the next few weeks, a particularly watchful eye on their e-mail account and the inbox, for now try some cyber-criminals to steal the log-in data for NCsoft titles. The thieves send emailing account in which the recipients of membership to the beta phase for the successor to Guild Wars 2 for the 20th September is promised. Supposedly this is limited to only 5000 keys.
Of course,if you are interesting in it,you may also buy Guild Wars 2 gold to try it.
As has been highlighted, this is a malicious mail fraud, because it specified Internet domain link not on the official NCsoft developers, but to a foreign side, which then stores your account information. In turn, hackers then have access to username and password for a run astray.
The fake messages are as follows:
Greetings,
It appears to us that you have a PlayNC account, and we're opening the
Guild Wars 2 beta on the 20th of September 2010.
If you would like to have a chance to win a beta key (there's 5000 of
them), head over to ncsoft-accounts.com and log in, on the
right panel you will see "Opt In For Beta", click it, and apply for the
Guild Wars 2 beta!
to recognize they are in the wrong domain, this is "ncsoft-accounts.com. On publisher NCsoft itself but only run "http://www.guildwars2gold.net/" or "http://www.buygw2gold.com/" for Europe.
Guild Wars 2 will come next year for the PC on the market, and a beta-test phase is targeted towards the end of the year.
